Our thanks to all involved to make this evening possible. From the musicians, performers, to the UCW for their preparation of the reception and the many people behind the scenes for their time and talents!
On this occasion of our 184th Anniversary of St.James Church, it is very fitting to remember loved ones in this way, particularly, past members of our congregation. We hope you enjoy the music and thank you for your support of the work and ministry of St. James United church. Please join us for a reception in the gymnasium following this program.

The Ninety and Nine
There were ninety and nine, that safely lay In the shelter of the fold;
But one was out on the hills away, Far off from the gates of gold,
Away on the mountains wild and bare, away from the tender Shepherd's care, away from the tender Shepherd's care.
Lord Thou hast here Thy ninety and nine, Are they not enough for Thee?
But the Shepherd made answer, "This of mine Has wondered away from Me.
And although the road be rough and steep, I go to the desert to find My sheep, I go to the desert to find My sheep."
And all through the mountains, thunder-riven, and up from the rocky steep, there rose a cry to the gate of heaven, "rejoice, I have found my sheep!"
And the angels echoed around the throne, "Rejoice for the Lord brings back his own, Rejoice for the Lord brings back his own."
Sons of God
Sons of God, hear his holy word!
Gather round the table of the Lord!
This His body, this His blood,
And we'll sing a song of love:
Allelu! Alleluia!
Brothers, sisters, we are one,
And our life has just begun;
In the Spirit we are young,
We can live for ever
(refrain)
Shout together to the Lord
Who has promised our reward-
happiness a hundredfold;
And we'll live for ever
(refrain)
With the church we celebrate,
Jesus' coming we await;
So we make a holiday,
So we'll live for ever
(refrain)
CHRISTMAS BASKETS FOR SINGLES
SUNDAY SCHOOL PARENTS, MEMBERS OF ST. JAMES
Dear Parents/Church Members: The Sunday School has, once again this year, been asked to collect donations to fill baskets for the SINGLE MEN AND WOMAN whom the St. James "food bank" will be helping this Christmas.
There are approximately 130 persons, this year, that St. James will be assisting (this does not include the FAMILIES and COUPLES that the food bank assists).
Our WHITE GIFT SERVICE will be on SUNDAY, DECEMBER 5th, 2010 with all proceeds going toward these baskets. The baskets will be given out on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 14th and TUESDAY, DECEMBER 21st, 2010 respectively. Items can be dropped off any Sunday or to the church office. Please MARK ITEMS "Sunday School Singles."
We wish to fill each basket with a can of cooked ham - 1 lb. along with the following:
Salmon or Tuna (can)
Peanut Butter or Jams
Kraft Dinner, Spaghetti, Pasta etc.
All non-perishable canned items - soup, sm. juices, beans, canned fruit and vegetables
Tea, Coffee, Sugar
Candy Canes, Candy
Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
These men and women are also in need of personal toiletries:
Toothpaste, Disposable Razors, Soap, Shampoo, Combs, etc.
Donations of baked goods, for example: shortbread cookies, muffins, etc. in small individual bags would be greatly appreciated.
Also mitts, gloves or hats would be very helpful for these people to have. (Most of the single people are men.)
We are hoping that we will be able to fill all 130 baskets again this year for these single men and women in our community who are less fortunate than most.
We have been asked to assist the food bank in supplying NEW toys for the children of the clients we serve here at St. James. In past years these items were donated through Federal Government Departments but this year they are unable to participate.
Any item, regardless of size or cost will be most appreciated.
Thank you for your support in this worthwhile endeavour. If you require further information please contact Shauna MacDonald (829-4042)Christmas Basket Coordinator. or the church office (464-8852).
